Small passage at Knowth

Part of the Newgrange complex, Knowth was recently excavated at the time of these photos (1993). The site has been inhabited continuously from prehistoric times to at least the Middle Ages. Together with Newgrange and Dowth, the other two great prehistoric sites at the bend of the Boyne river, they formed the stage for the great two thousand year old Celtic epic, The Cattle Raid of Cooley.
